PREPARATION
- Stir Together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
- Cut butter with pastry blender or knife.
- Stir Cheese and basil.
- Add buttermilk to flour mixture, mixing lightly with fork until combined.
- Turn dough out onto floured board.
- Knead gently 20 times.
- Pat or roll dough to 1/2 – inch (12mm) thickness.
- Cut with floured 2 1/4-inch (6cm) cookie cutter: place on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in 400 F (200 C) over 9 min .
- Reduce oven temperature to 325 F (160 C) and bake 9 min. longer or until golden brown.
